The news of this new movie comes on the heels of a new trailer for Resident Evil 7 which popped up on the net in the last few days. The trailer features a group of three southern people who appear to be trying to get the game’s main character to eat human body parts. There also appears to be something rather supernatural about the group.

Resident Evil 7, which has the subtitle of “Biohazard” is slated for a January 17 release, making next spring and winter sporting quite the RE theme. There is not yet a ton of new information about Resident Evil: Vendetta though reports from Kotaku point to the original storyline having a distinctive RE1 bent. The film will be executive produced by horror mastermind Takashi Shimizu. Shimizu is best know for helping to bring The Grudge to life.
