World of Warcraft Legion: How to Get Your Artifact Weapon

World of Warcraft Legion added some serious customization paths to each class, culminating in the new Artifact weapons. There is a different Artifact weapon for each specialty of each class, and each of the Artifacts has its own branching customization tree that you’ll level up as you complete objectives around the Broken Isles.

How to Get Your Artifact Weapon

Grabbing your Artifact is one of the first things you’ll want to do in Legion, and it’s not too difficult a task, mostly requiring you follow along the questlines properly.

When you log into a character on a World of Warcraft account with Legion purchased, you’ll be prompted to begin the expansion’s introductory questline. Accept, and you’ll be taken through the Broken Shore scenario. (You may have already completed this if you started these quests before Legion landed.)

Follow along the objectives and you’ll eventually find yourself in Dalaran, and find Dalaran teleported to the Broken Isles. Once the city has been moved, you’ll come to at Krasus’ Landing, and an envoy will be waiting right in front of you. Speak to him, and then you’ll be free to explore the city. Not too long after, a courier will approach you bearing a quest and instructions on how to get to your class hall. These halls, also new to Legion, will be the headquarters of your adventure.

Head to your specific class hall, and you’ll be greeted by some of the most famed members of your class. Continue following the quests until you’re offered the choice to go after one of your class Artifacts. You’ll be able to pursue only one at a time, so choose wisely. Selecting an Artifact weapon will essentially choose your class specialization, altering your abilities and playstyle. Eventually, you’ll be able to collect them all, but your first choice should be one you’re comfortable sticking with for a while.

Once you’ve completed the quest to obtain the Artifact, you’ll be sent to quest around the Broken Isles, where you’ll find resources and quests that will power up your weapon. To use these powerups, you’ll have to head back to the weapon station at your class hall.
