As DigitalSpy reports. whilst speaking on-stage with PS4 system architect Mark Cenry, Kojima said he is “very confident this will be my best work.” Bold words considering his past achievements.

Kojima stated that he feels Death Stranding has an advantage over his previous games. In the past, he has been forced to make compromises in order to meet deadlines and get his game finished, but this apparently won’t be the case for Death Stranding.

“So far, when I’ve been making games, I’ve had to give up on something or at least compromise on something in order to get things done,” said Kojima. “But this time, working with you [Mark Cerny] and you bringing the state of the art technologies, we will get around that [usual problem].

“I’m very confident that we’re working towards something completely new and that no one has seen so far. This will be my best work so far, I’m very confident about that.”

Death Stranding itself remains shrouded in mystery. It was first announced at E3 2016 a few weeks ago and will star Norman Reedus, who was originally going to star in the cancelled Silent Hills game which was being worked on by Kojima and famed film director Guillermo del Toro.

Kojima has stated that a release date for Death Stranding is still some time away, but here’s hoping we get more details on the game soon.
