Star Wars Rogue One Trailer Has Been Reimagined as a 16-Bit Game

Really old-school.

Rogue One Star Wars

It’s only been nearly two months since the trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story dropped, but the much discussed initial teaser has already been given the pixelated makeover in the form of an 8-bit trailer thanks to the work of JoBlo Movie Trailers.

The YouTube channel has an “8-bit Trailers” series, and has recently turned its attention to the latest chapter in the Star Wars film saga, Rogue One, which takes place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

Check it out below:

Every scene from the trailer has been gloriously recreated in 16-bit form, complete with in-game text dialogue and the appearance of a Lucasfilm Games logo. The result is the impressively authentic aesthetic of a video game that looks like it really could have existed in the SNES era of arcade action-platformers.

You can compare it to the real thing by reacquainting yourself with the original trailer featured below.

Rogue One is set to come out this year, on December 16th.
