When Rocket League finally launches on Xbox One in February, it will have Sunset Overdrive items according to Insomniac Creative Director, Marcus Smith. In a blog post on insomniacgames.com, Smith said that the mutual over-the-top action of both titles meant “it seemed perfectly fitting when we were approach by the fine people of Psyonix, asking if they could do some Sunset related Garage Items.”
The items, so far, include an OverCharge (the Sunset Overdrive energy drink that turned people in mutants) Rocket Boost, the sound of Ahab’s gun firing when the booster is activated, and an antenna topper featuring Fizzco’s evil mascot, Fizzie.
“Since this is Oscar season,” Smith continued. “I’ll go so far as to say it was an honor even being considered.”

Sunset Overdrive joins other Xbox franchises such as Halo and Gears of War in being featured in the fast-paced race car, soccer mashup title from Psyonix.
No specific release date for Rocket League on Xbox One has been set outside of simply “February 2016”, but the game is available to play now on PS4 and PC — of course, without the Sunset Overdrive items.
