Frontier Developments have announced that Elite Dangerous had over 1.4 million sales by the end of 2015, after the first expansion released in December.
Elite Dangerous: Horizons released in December, which looks to have positively affected sales of the game. Sales were at the 1.2 million mark in November, so through the expansion release alongside promotions beforehand approximately 200,000 sales were made before 2015 finished. Frontier Developments also stated that during the first half of the financial year, revenue increased 50% compared to the same period before, with the company making around 15.6 million dollars.
They say this puts the company in a good position financially this year, with Elite Dangerous: Horizons currently being worked on in Early Access, as well as their theme park management game Planet Coaster which is due to release by the end of this year.
Elite Dangerous: Horizons is currently in Early Access, and will cost you $59.99 to buy on Steam. If you haven’t played the game yet, the expansion comes with the base game. Elite Dangerous is also playable on the Xbox One.
