Another Fallout: New Vegas Speedrun Record Set Just One Day After Someone Else Broke It

And all in Italian too.

Fallout: New Vegas

What’s the fastest you’ve ever beaten Fallout: New Vegas? Well if you’re looking for tips to improve your time, a YouTuber called HollazHalan recently posted a video of him setting the new Speedrun record for an any% run at 20:47.6. An any percent run means that while he did take advantage of glitches, exploits and more, they didn’t use console commands or mods to improve their time.

HollazHalan managed to get this time by using a quicksaving and quickloading exploit to clip through walls. In the comments section under the video he also explained why he blew up his own legs with a grenade launcher. No-one said speedrunning Fallout: New Vegas was 100% safe.

When you cripple your leg, your speed is set to 0, then bring back to 60% of your normal speed. By quickloading just before getting crippled, you can confuse the game into giving you 60% without actually being put to 0 ( because we don’t actually really get crippled). So you get a huge speedboost, and walk at 160% of your normal speed.

HollazHalan also noted that the reason he played the game in Italian was because the Italian voice actors speak faster than the English ones. Reddit revealed that he beat the previous speedrun record of 20:54.1 by Swags_The_Dog which was only set a day ago.

If you’re interested in trying to set the record yourself, then you may be interested to know that the character build for this speedrun was a female character for the black widow perk, 10 Charisma, tag speech and select Good Natured for maximum speech. This build also uses 45 survival to unlock the Travel Light perk, which further increases your movement speed by 10%.
