Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s Pre-Order Has Players Choose between 39 Different Combinations

What to choose, what to choose?

Square Enix has unveiled their new “Augment your Pre-Order” promotion for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The pre-order involves a branching system of choices that has players choose their bonuses in a way that mimics the many tactical and customization choices in the upcoming Deus Ex title.

There are 39 possible combinations.

The pre-order has five tiers of rewards. The first is available from the get-go, and the rest will unlock as more pre-orders are made. Each tier requires you make a choice between two or more bonus options. Your choices will define what comes in your pre-order. Nay, they will define you for the rest of your life.

The first tier has you choose one of three armor/character skin packs. The second tier is a life or death decision between the digital artbook and the digital OST sampler. The third tier brings you brief respite from the agony, and just gives you a bonus mission. Pain returns in the fourth and final tier, where Deus Ex ties both a digital comic book and a novella to a cartoon railroad track and forces you to save only one while it twists its mustache in a menacing fashion. What matters more? Who are you?

Oh, and Tier 5 is a four day early release.

Of course, you can just have it all if you buy the $150 collector’s edition, which will include all the pre-order bonuses, along with the fan-voted 48-page artbook, Adam Jensen figurine, steelbook, and Day One edition of the game. For an extra $90, all of this pain can be over.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC come Feb 23. In the meantime, you can check out our exclusive interview with the voice of Adam Jensen, where the game’s lead actor discusses the complex plot and Jensen’s new, more dynamic role.

In other news, Deus Ex has been busy flirting up a storm with the Sonic Twitter account. Who knows what those two are up to.
