Assassin’s Creed; Syndicate has a lot riding on it. After last year’s terrible launch of the buggy Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Syndicate needs to deliver a great experience that reassures gamers that Ubisoft haven’t lost its touch.
Set in Victorian London, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate will allow players to step into the boots of two main characters, the twins Jacob and Evie Frye. To be fair to Ubisoft, it seemed fans complaints of Unity have been taken on board and from what we’ve seen so far, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate looks like a lot of fun.
PC fans of the series will be a little disappointed to learn that the PC edition of the game will be released just shy of a month after the console version. Sam Kovalev, Studio Production Manager at Ubisoft Kiev has explained the reason for the delay, saying:
“We have introduced several new improvements to our production pipeline and validation process, which allowed us to focus on polishing, stabilizing and optimizing the PC version very early on in the project. This has been one of the top priorities for the production team this year. The additional four weeks are for us to really bear down and finalize all of the polish and optimization, to make sure the game and all of its systems are stable when it launches, so it runs smoothly for all players starting on day one.”
PC gamers will be pleased to know that the PC version will have no framerate lock, though the recommended specs are 1080p/60fps. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is due to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23 and the PC on November 19.
