More Final Fantasy Remakes Could Come After FFVII

Like this fantasy, the remakes aren't final.

Sony made the night of a lot of people on Monday when they revealed that they were working on a PS4 remake for Final Fantasy VII. But for other people, it was a disappointment. In their mind, FFVI or should’ve gotten the remake, since their only releases were on the Super Nintendo. Well, if Tetsuya Nomura has anything to say about it, that could end up being a possibility.

During a group interview session at E3, Nomura basically said that remakes for Final Fantasy V and VI are something they’re considering:

“Considering that we have remakes of Final Fantasy up to IV and then we have VII — I’ve been working with Mr. [Yoshinori] Kitase since Final Fantasy V, and we’ve noticed that V and VI are missing. That bothers me. How come we skipped over those two?”

The first two Final Fantasy games were remade on the Game Boy Advance and PSP, respectively, while FF3 and got remakes on the Nintendo DS. Maybe FFV and VI will be next for Nomura and crew once they’re done remaking FFVII. Sometime in the next half decade, of course.
