Halo 5’s Spartans Face Off Against the Prometheans

As is the case with E3, Microsoft debuted a new trailer for Halo 5: Guardians, offering us our first look at the game’s story mode. The demo starts with Spartan Jameson Locke and his Fireteam Osiris–Edward Buck, Olympia Vale, and Holly Tanaka–searching for the Master Chief on an alien planet. It just so happens that the planet in question is where that big old nasty Guardian from the box art is.

This gameplay demo shows off the tactical commands Locke can give to his Spartans, some new weapons, and more importantly, the return of the Prometheans from Halo 4. If the big guy at the end is any indication, they’re gonna come back stronger than ever. Think you can handle it?

Halo 5: Guardians releases on the Xbox One on October 27.
