Overkill, the developer behind the Payday franchise, has been working on a co-op multiplayer Walking Dead game for some time, and it seems that it will be shown off at this year’s E3.
According to a corporate business report from Starbreeze Studios — a development and publishing partner of Overkill — they have been very busy setting up their showings for E3. Part of the report summary from Starbreeze CEO Bo Andersson Klint reads as follows:
The upcoming weeks will be fully focused on our setup and planning for the E3 Expo in Los Angeles and to make sure it’s the historical event we envision. With a significant presence our ambition is to showcase both PAYDAY 2 and OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead
Starbreeze also tweeted about the showing with a rather gruesome bust of a zombified lady.
Little is known about Overkill’s Walking Dead game other than what has been officially announced. According to the games official Q&A, Overkill’s The Walking Dead “is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth, that invites players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers. In 2016 Washington will fall – what will you do?”
The official reveal trailer was released in August of last year.
We’ll see more of the game come E3 time. Stay tuned to Twinfinite’s coverage.
