Mortal Kombat X Coming to Mobile Devices

Rip them apart on the move.

Okay so you probably know by now that Mortal Kombat X is coming out next month barring any delays. You’re also probably going to be aware of the fairly lackluster port of Mortal Kombat 9 onto Vita. Well it looks like NetherRealm Studios are taking another crack at the handheld marker kind of, as a trailer for Mortal Kombat X has been unveiled and shows that they may be bringing the game to mobile devices within this year.

Since 1992 the Mortal Kombat franchise has been squeezing quarters and then dollars out of fighting game fans. This trailer for Mortal Kombat X: Mobile does suggest that publishers Warner Bros. are intent on bringing the gruesome fighter to tablets at least sometime soon. There are absolutely no details about this so far outside of the trailer. That being said, it would be a particularly awesome way to make Mortal Kombat X available to yet another market.

You’re probably going to need a fairly powerful tablet to run a game like Mortal Kombat X, as already released screenshots from the console version look ready to rip apart any Xbox One or PlayStation 4 that looks at them funny.

All that we can hope for is a step away from the rather shoddy Vita port of Mortal Kombat 9, which reduced character models to molten Barbie dolls filled with tomato ketchup and pipe-cleaners.

Mortal Kombat X is expected to land on consoles and PC April 14th. As for this mobile port, well you’d better go ask Scorpion or Reptile because we’ve got precisely no idea.
