Operator kills and assists challenges are only visible in your daily challenges that refresh every 24 hours. The process to complete them is as straightforward as it sounds; if a challenge tasks you with getting five Operator kills, you must defeat five enemies in any of the game’s multiplayer modes. However, the catch is that they must be real players, not any of the AI-controlled opponents.

With the introduction of new modes that feature AI, the thought process must have been to describe said challenges in their current manner to avoid confusion. However, that’s not the case as many of us are just as confused. For any challenge that tasks you with killing Operators, whether it be with grenades or launchers, they must be player-controlled opponents, not AI.

This is to avoid farming in large modes, such as Invasion, which makes sense. However, it is important to note, MW2 has had an extremely rough launch. If you’re confident that you’ve completed these challenges and are still not getting the reward, it may be the game’s fault due to the lack of challenges tracking correctly.
