Best Perks for Tank Players

  • Battle Hardened
  • Bomb Squad
  • Quick Fix
  • Survivor

As a tank player, it’s best to have protective abilities that can prolong your survivability rate in battle. With this in mind, players can equip the Base and Ultimate Perks shown above to withstand enemy attacks. First, we have the Battle Hardened skill, which reduces the effect of the opposing teams’ Flash, Stun, EMP, Gas Grenades, and Shock Sticks. To top it off, it also makes you immune to Snapshot Grenades.

The Bomb Squad Base Perk lessens the damage of a non-Killstreak explosive and resets the fuze timers when you pick up live grenades. This ability will undoubtedly come in handy in intense situations, especially if the enemy is consistently throwing out Tactical or Lethal equipment.

Lastly, tank players can select the Quick Fix or the Survivor Ultimate Perks to increase their chances of survival. With the Quick Fix ability, you can regenerate your health once you take down an opponent. Players can also increase their health regeneration by capturing and holding objectives in multiplayer modes like Domination and Hardpoint. Or, you can choose the Survivor Ultimate Perk to have one Last Stand upon death.

Best Perks for Long-Range Battles

  • Overkill
  • Strong Arm
  • Spotter
  • Focus
  • Birdseye

If you have more of a long-range battle playstyle in Modern Warfare 2, then you should definitely have a few of these skills in your Perk Package. For example, the Overkill Base Perk allows players to carry two primary weapons, where they can equip guns with better range. Without this ability, you can only access Secondary weapons, such as Handguns, Melee devices, and Launchers.

To help with the distance, players can use the Strong Arm Base Perk to throw equipment farther and see a preview of the trajectory. In addition, the Spotter talent can locate enemy hardware (through walls), including Field Upgrades and Killstreaks.

Once you find a good vantage point on the map, you can utilize the Focus Bonus Perk to reduce the flinch of aiming down sights and extend the Hold Breath duration to target an enemy accurately. Last but not least is the Birdseye Ultimate Perk, which is a part of the Sniper Package. This perk produces a zoomed-out version of the minimap, giving you a better surrounding of the area.

Best Perks for Stealth Players

  • Double Time
  • Tracker
  • Cold-Blooded
  • Ghost

For a sneaky playstyle, you can equip these perks to conceal your presence and boost movement speed. For instance, the Double Time Base Perk extends the Tactical Sprint’s duration and increases crouch movement by 30 percent. That being said, crouching is one of the most critical aspects of stealthy gameplay because you can hide behind nearby objects.

While players silently explore the map, they can use the Tracker skill to follow enemy footprints and hide kill markers from the opposing team. Furthermore, the Cold-Blooded Bonus Perk keeps you out of sight, making you undetectable from the enemy’s AI targeting system and thermal optics.

At Level 52, players will unlock the Ghost Ultimate Perk, an ability that can make them undetectable by UAVs, Portable Radar, and Heartbeat Sensors. Getting this perk might take a while, but at least it’ll enhance your stealthy abilities in the long run. But if you want a pre-made pack, you can use the Phantom Package to make things easier.

Best Perks for Assault Players

  • Overkill
  • Double Time
  • Fast Hands
  • Hardline
  • High Alert
  • Quick Fix

Full frontal attacks are one of the most common playstyles in Modern Warfare 2 since this technique focuses on quick kills. As a result, the team can gather enough points from these eliminations to win the match. Like the long-range combat tactics, the Overkill ability is an excellent choice for assault players because they can fall back on their second weapon when they run out of bullets.

The assault playstyle requires a lot of fast movement, mainly when an enemy targets you on the battlefield. So, it’s a good idea to choose the Double Time Base Perk and Fast Hands Bonus Perk to boost your overall speed for Tactical Sprint, reloading, equipment use, and swapping weapons. Moreover, those who use the Killstreak mechanic often can use the Hardline Bonus Perk to reduce the Killstreak cost by one. Full-frontal assault players typically accumulate enough points for the Killstreak, so they can use this skill to unlock it instantly.

The High Alert Ultimate Perk is one of the best abilities of the game due to its high advantage on the battlefield. This ability triggers a vision pulse that alerts the player whenever an enemy is nearby, reducing the risk of a surprise enemy attack. Or, you can equip the Quick Fix to last longer in the multiplayer modes.

Best Perks for Scavengers

  • Scavenger
  • Extra Tactical
  • Resupply
  • Overclock

The Scavenger playstyle of Modern Warfare 2 centers around the game’s Tactical and Lethal equipment aspect. One of the most obvious choices for perks is the Scavenger ability, which resupplies ammo and throwing knives from dead players. Next, we have the Extra Tactical Base Perk, a skill that spawns one additional Tactical, and the Resupply Bonus Perk, a talent that gives you another Lethal.

Finally, players can store an additional Field Upgrade with the Overclock Ultimate Perk. This equipment can help the team tremendously due to its unique abilities. For example, the Munitions Box deploys a box of ammo and gear for your group, while the Portable Radar detects nearby enemies without a UAV. Additionally, the Overclock perk increases the Field Upgrade charge rate by 40%, allowing players to use it frequently.
