Elden Ring – Does It Have Ray Tracing?

At the time of writing, no, Elden Ring does not have ray tracing. However, back in November 2021, the Japanese studio did confirm that ray tracing will be added at a later date via a patch.

Now, almost a year later, a brand new Elden Ring update has just been deployed by FromSoftware, and while it largely focuses on balancing PvP damage stats, magic buffs, and incantations, some data miners have revealed that new strings in the data may suggest that ray tracing support is inbound, along with speculation of a potential new island where the unannounced DLC may take place.

It’s important to take this intel with a grain of salt as it’s still not officially confirmed as of yet, but the new information does line up with what the Japanese developer mentioned last year.

Of course, as soon as we hear something more official, we’ll make sure to update this post to help keep you in the loop.

So, there you have it. We hope this helped to clue you in on whether Elden Ring has ray tracing. For more on the acclaimed RPG, feel free to check out our in-depth review. Alternatively, go ahead and check out the relevant links down below.
