Every Snapchat Emojis and Its Meaning, Explained

As you connect with more people on Snapchat and share silly Snaps and whatnot, you’ll start to notice a few emojis crop up. You didn’t put them thereβ€”did they? No, Snapchat does that automatically based on certain criteria.

  • Gold Star (🌟) – Whenever a friend replays your Snaps within 24 hours, a Gold Star can appear next to their name.
  • Birthday Cake (πŸŽ‚) – Someone just got older! Go wish them a happy birthday.
  • Yellow Heart (πŸ’›) – The Yellow Heart appears next to a friend’s name if they’re someone you send the most Snaps to and vice versa.
  • Red Heart (❀️) – After two weeks straight of being ‘besties,’ the Red Heart emoji will appear.
  • Pink Hearts (πŸ’•) – After two months straight of being ‘besties,’ the Pink Hearts will appear.
  • Fire (πŸ”₯) – If you and one other person Snap each other at least once per day. Forgetting to Snap one day will break the streak.
  • One Hundred (πŸ’―) – If you see the One Hundred emoji alongside the Fire emoji, then you and that person have sent Snaps to one another every day for 100 days in a row.
  • Hourglass (βŒ›) – This is a warning that your Snap streak is just about to end.
  • Baby (πŸ‘Ά) – When the Baby emoji shows up, it means you and another person are fresh friends on Snapchat.
  • Smiling Face (😊) – If you see the Smiling Face emoji, it means you two aren’t quite BFFs just yet, but you definitely send a lot of Snaps to one another.
  • Smirking Face (😏) – Kind of the opposite of the Smiling Face emoji; that person sends a lot of Snaps to you, but you aren’t as responsive.
  • Grimacing Face (😬) – An indication that you and another person have the same #1 BFF. Just remember it isn’t a competition; no one likes an overbearing friend.
  • Smiling Face With Sunglasses (😎) – Nearly identical in nature to the Grimacing Face emoji. You and another person send a lot of Snaps to the same best friend.
  • Pushpin (πŸ“Œ) – The Pushpin emoji doesn’t appear naturally; you have to pin conversations personally, which will then appear at the top of your feed.

Now, you hopefully know and understand all Snapchat emojis and their meanings–you’re welcome. It won’t be long before these Snapchat emojis are second nature to you.
