Will There Be More Breaking Bad Spin-Offs?

While the showrunners have adopted a “never say never” attitude, at the moment it looks pretty unlikely that we’ll see even more spin-off series set in the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul universe.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, showrunner Peter Gould had mentioned that at this point after the Breaking Bad finale had aired, he and Vince Gilligan had already been discussing and planning the development of Better Call Saul for a while. However, at this time, the showrunners are working on completely new projects and there hasn’t been any talk about another spin-off series in this universe.

Gould goes on to state that if they were going to work on another spin-off, it would have to be completely different from what they’ve done before, and it would have to be the right idea or concept. He doesn’t discount the possibility and also states that he would love to revisit the series if the stars aligned, but there’s just nothing planned at the moment especially with how much closure we’ve gotten with both shows and El Camino.

It’s always possible that we’ll get a movie set in this universe instead of a whole other series, of course. Just as Jesse got his own epilogue-style movie with El Camino, there’s potential for Kim to get her own closure movie going forward, but that’s just speculation on our part. If anything changes, we’ll update this article with any new info that comes out.

That’s all you need to know about whether there will be more Breaking Bad spin-offs. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul coverage, including our ranking of the best musical montages in both series.
