It’s another new year and another new entry in the Madden NFL series. The QB slide in Madden 23 is an incredibly important move to have at your disposal, as it can reduce the risk of fumbling the ball and turning over possession to the opposition. In this guide, we’ll run you through everything you need to know on how to slide in Madden 23.
How to QB Slide in Madden 23
To slide in Madden 23, you need to press Square on PlayStation or X on Xbox once you’ve pressed R2/ RT to stop scrambling and are passed the line of scrimmage.
If you’re at or behind the line of scrimmage, pressing Square/ X won’t cause your QB to slide; instead, they’ll try to initiate a pass, which can cause you all sorts of issues and result in a potential turnover.
Because of how agile and speedy QBs tend to be over other players, they’re also more prone to fumbling the ball when they’re tackled beyond the line of scrimmage while they’re not sliding. As such, it’s absolutely crucial that if you’re going to run outside of the pocket and beyond the line of scrimmage with your QB that you initiate a slide as the defensive line starts to close in on you, otherwise you risk a turnover.
