Who Are the Thunderbolts?

Source: Marvel Comics

The Thunderbolts are a team of supervillains created by Baron Zemo, a man who despises the Avengers since he blames them for his family’s death. After the battle with the sentient psionic entity, Onslaught, the world’s greatest heroes were believed to be dead, thus creating this Masters of Evil group.

On the surface, the team disguises themselves as heroes in their devious plan, including the members Beetle, Fixer, Goliath, Moonstone, and Screaming Mimi. In an effort to keep their secret identities intact, they create aliases to enhance their evil scheme further.

However, while they try to embody their heroic personas, they develop a sense of duty and pride in their courageous deeds. As the head of the group, Zemo doesn’t appreciate their change of heart and tries to dismantle the group.

After years have gone by, the Thunderbolts maintain their heroic adventures, despite Zemo’s disagreements. In addition, the team gathers some familiar members, such as Deadpool, the Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye.

Since the movie will end Phase 5, Thunderbolts will undoubtedly set the tone for the future of Marvel.
