Is There New Game Plus in Horizon Forbidden West? Answered

Yes, there is a New Game Plus mode in Horizon Forbidden West. Following the release of the June 2022 update, players can start over the latest chapter in Aloy’s adventure with all of their end-game gear, all the while tackling tougher enemies than they did the first time around.

How to Start New Game Plus in Horizon Forbidden West

To start new game plus, first make sure you’ve beaten Horizon Forbidden West’s main story at least once. That means you’ll have rolled the credits and beaten the final boss.

From there, load up your save and head to the Base. In the middle of this room, you’ll find a beacon-like tower. Interact with this and press Triangle when standing in front of it to start New Game Plus, as shown in the screenshot below.

What Carries Over in NG+?

All of your weapons and armor will carry over in Horizon Forbidden West’s New Game+, but none of the key story items used to progress will, so as to prevent you from skipping ahead in the story and accessing areas you shouldn’t be able to.
