Firstly, not one but two new biomes are going to be introduced: the Deep Dark and the Mangrove Swamp.

Interestingly, the Deep Dark is set to be a creepy new area that “lies far below the surface.” In a strange twist, this biome will be eerily silent and devoid of any noise. In fact, the only audio you may hear in the Deep Dark is the sound of a new mob called the Shrieker.

From what we can gather, this new mob doesn’t appear to be very friendly at all. Yes, if you hear the Shrieker’s scream, it’s safe to say that it’s time to make a run for it. You’ve been warned!

That said, before you book it out of the Deep Dark biome, perhaps stay a while to appreciate the new Sculk Blocks, which can actually be mined if you’re lucky enough to have the Silk Touch skill.

Next up, we have the Mangrove Swamp biome, which is apparently a lot less scary than the Deep Dark. Here, you’ll find huge trees with overgrown roots, and if you’re lucky, you may even stumble across a new Mud Block, which will be craftable with some regular dirt and water.

New Mobs in Minecraft: The Wild Update – Shrieker, Warden, Allay & Frog

As well as the Shrieker, the new update will introduce a further three brand-new mobs: the Warden, the Allay, and the… Frog! (Finally, right?)

Firstly, the Warden is a powerful and hostile mob that lives in the Deep Dark biome. Apparently, you’ll need to be very stealthy if you want to discover it, but you probably won’t want to because it sounds pretty nasty.

Secondly, there’s the Allay, which is a friendly blue flying mob that will even help to collect items for you. Much like Parrots, they can even dance if there’s a jukebox nearby. Pretty neat, huh?

Lastly, there’s the much-awaited Frog mob, which are friendly and feed on baby Slimes. In addition, they also grow from Tadpoles, and these Tadpoles start off as Frogspawn. Very cute!

Oh, and let’s not forget one other new item that will be added in the new The Wild Update: Yes, a new Boat with a Chest will be available for those who like to travel in style!
