The latest version brings a new PVP map, Iron Banner rework, balance adjustments, etc. Besides this, Bungie has incorporated four brand-new resources or currencies, and Figments of Darkness is one of them. Destiny 2 players will need Figments of Darkness in order to unlock upgrades on the Crown of Sorrow in the H.E.L.M. Therefore, farming this new resource is essential in Season of the Haunted. Similar to other new currencies, there are three ways to get Figments of Darkness in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted:

Seasonal Challenges

Destiny 2 players can complete the Week 1 Sustained Fire seasonal challenges to earn Figments of Darkness in the game. Players’ primary objective during Week 1 is to defeat combatants with Auto Rifle or Trace Rifle defeat combatants with Auto Rifle or Trace Rifle on the Leviathan and defeat enemies with Solar damage during the Sever weekly missions. It’s being speculated that Bungie will introduce more such challenges in the future that might reward fans with more Figments of Darkness.

Bound in Sorrow Quest

One of the most lucrative ways to get Figments of Darkness in Destiny 2 is by completing the Bound in Sorrow quest.

The quest contains the Nightmare Containment public event in Derelict Leviathan and the Sever weekly quest that eventually rewards Figments of Darkness upon its completion.

Crown of Sorrow Vendor Ranks

The third and final way is by raising the vendor rank of Crown of Sorrow by completing Seasonal challenges, Nightmare Containment public event, opening Sever Chests, and more. Players will receive three Figments of Darkness per vendor rank prestige at the following levels:

  • Rank 4
  • Rank 10
  • Rank 16

The grind for the resources seems relatively long this season. Fortunately, players have around three months to farm them.
