The much anticipated Blue Lock anime adaptation finally has a release window beyond just “sometime in 2022” and it’s not too far off. Announced with a new official trailer today, the anime is set to air in October 2022.
You can check out the trailer for yourself down below:
Prior to this, we’d gotten various teaser videos for Yoichi Isagi, Meguru Bachira, Rensuke Kunigami, and Hyoma Chigiri. That said, there are still plenty of characters we’ve yet to see in action, including Rin Itoshi who quickly became a fan favorite among manga readers.
The story follows protagonist Yoichi Isagi, who dreams of being one of the best soccer players in Japan. He, along with several other promising high schoolers, get invited to join the Blue Lock program, where they’re all forced to undergo intense training that’s designed to mold them into the ultimate striker. The catch? If you fail out of the program, your dreams of ever becoming a soccer player are over. And there can only be one ultimate striker.
Aside from the trailer, we also got a new key visual for the anime, showing off the Team Z boys in style.
Blue Lock is set to air in October 2022.
