What Fortnite Ascenders Are

Ascenders look like vertical zipwires that players can hook onto to quickly move up them. These are often found around the bottom of the Airships hovering in the air, or other high-to-reach places such as tall cliffs and mountains.

We’ve included a screenshot of what a Fortnite Ascender looks like below.

Using an Ascender in Fortnite

To use an Ascender, walk over to it and press X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, Y on Switch or E on PC to use it. Doing so will cause your character to move up the Ascender to the very top of it.

You can let go of an Ascender at any time by pressing A/ X/ B/ Space.

Where to Find Ascenders at Chonker’s Speedway & Command Cavern

The Ascender at Chonker’s Speedway can be found in the northwest corner of the raceway, on the northern side of the cliff marked on the map below.

The Ascender at Command Cavern is far easier to find. Simply land on the IO Airship in the north of this named location and look for one of the vertical ziplines hanging down from it. We’ve marked the location of one of these on the map for your convenience, too.
