Today Cloud Imperium Games released the new Alpha update for Star Citizen, numbered 3.17, alongside a few new videos.
The new update includes aerial (or space) ship-to-ship refueling, the ability to sell looted equipment, mining gadgets, the MISC Hull A freighter, the new hospital in Hurston, and the new technology for rivers.

The second video features proposed changes for biome interaction, improvements being made to the AI, work on derelict outposts, space ruins, and more.
The third video is a lenghtier one showing the creation of one of these derelict outposts.
n other Star Citizen news, the crowdfunding total has recently passed $453 million and it’s currently sitting on $453,427,913.
The number of registered accounts is nearly at 3.7 million, and it’s at 33,698,071 at the moment of this writing.
As usual, you should keep in mind that it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons, including Free Fly events.

If you’re wondering whether the game is actually fun to play, this is a good place to start. A star-studded single-player campaign titled “Squadron 42” is in development.
