Top 10 Rarest Gliders in Fortnite (April 2022)

Fortnite

Fortnite has a staggering amount of cosmetics. From skins to gliders, pickaxes to back blings and even dances and emotes, the Item Shop is constantly being updated with new, cool designs to tempt you to spend your V-Bucks. However, sometimes, all the V-Bucks on the Fortnite island can’t buy you some of these items. Here, we’re running through the top 10 rarest Fortnite gliders you can have in your Locker in 2022.

10. Raptor

Despite only being classed as an ‘Uncommon’ Glider due to its rather basic design, the Raptor is one of the rarest Fortnite gliders in the game right now.

Having initially gone on sale in the Item Shop back in 2017 during Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 1, the Raptor Glider only went on sale a few more times in 2018 before disappearing. It was last seen in August 2018 and cost 500 V-Bucks. As it’s not returned since and was only available in the Item Shop during the early games of the year, this is one of the rarest ways you can drop into Fortnite.

9. Get Down

rarest fortnite gliders

The Get Down glider is all about glitz and glam, releasing as part of the Season 2 Battle Pass back in Chapter 1.

That makes it yet another glider that originally featured in 2017, but rather than being bought from the Item Shop, players had to reach Tier 14 on the Battle Pass to unlock it. As the game was still fairly early on in its life, not a ton of players were investing in buying the Premium Battle Pass and so may have never got it.

It’s never appeared in the Item Shop either, making the Get Down glider one of the rarest in Fortnite to-date.

8. Sir Glider the Brave

Sir Glider the Brave doesn’t just have an epic name, it’s also got a stylish, medieval design to fall in-line with Fortnite Battle Royale’s initial theme, hence why so many ‘Knight’ skins appear in the Rarest Fortnite Skins you can own right now.

This glider is rare for the very same reasons as the Knight skins are that it complements so well. It appeared early on in the life of Fortnite Battle Royale and as such, few players ever really obtained it. Plus, you had to reach Tier 35 of the Season 2 Battle Pass to unlock it, meaning those who didn’t pay for the Premium pass would miss out on it entirely.

7. Snowflake Umbrella

The Snowflake Umbrella is one of the rarest because it actually required you to get a Victory Royale during Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 2.

Given this couldn’t just be purchased or unlocked like the two gliders before it, the Snowflake Umbrella is easily one of the rarest Fortnite gliders you can have in your Locker in 2022.

6. Rhinestone Rider

The Rhinestone Rider glider isn’t all that impressive. It’s got some patterns etched into what appears to be a denim-like fabric and that’s about it. It appeared in the Item Shop for 500 V-Bucks back in July 2018, but has only ever been available to purchase for five days ever since.

Given it’s not the most exciting-looking glider, chances are if you own it, you’re probably one of a very small numbers of players that do. The Rhinestone Rider might not look it, but it’s one of the rarest Fortnite gliders in 2022.

5. Rainbow Rider

Now popular with streamers because of its colorful rainbows, stars and sprinkles, the Rainbow Rider isn’t going to appeal to everyone with its lighthearted design.

It was available as part of the Fortnite Season 3 Battle Pass, unlocking at Tier 15. Because it featured on the Battle Pass, it never showed up to be purchased in the Item Shop, making this one of the rarer gliders in Fortnite right now.

4. Aerial Assault One

We’ve got a serious OG glider right here. The Aerial Assault One showed up in the very first season of Fortnite. At this point, things were a little different in terms of unlocking cosmetics. Players would need to reach Level 5 in the season and could then purchase the Glider from the Season Shop for 500 V-Bucks.

The fact that it was last available on Oct. 25, 2017 and through this slightly unorthodox unlocking system makes it one of the rarest Fortnite gliders you can own.

Again, the design’s not anything to write home about, but if you’re gliding into the action with the Aerial Assault One, people will know you’re a hardcore Fortnite fan.

3. Discovery Glider

rarest fortnite gliders

The Discovery Glider was one of the first of its kind. It couldn’t be bought from the Item Shop or unlocked as part of the Battle Pass. No, it was a freebie for playing Fortnite on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4 when they first released back in Nov. 2018. The Galaxy skin is also one of the rarest in the game right now, for the very same reason.

This is also one of the most visually impressive gliders in the game, with the stars shifting around the glider’s purple background as you float through the skies.

2. Rotor

The Rotor Glider is part of the Double Helix set, which was released exclusively as part of a Nintendo Switch console bundle. This release during Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 6, during what many would consider to be the peak of Fortnite’s popularity.

Despite releasing at this peak of popularity, the Rotor glider remains incredibly rare because of the fact that so few people would go out of their way to buy the Nintendo Switch hardware bundle specifically for the Double Helix cosmetics.

Sadly, the Rotor glider has never come to the Item Shop or been released since, making it one of the rarest Fortnite gliders you can own right now.

1. Mako

rarest fortnite gliders

The Mako glider is very similar to the Aerial Assault One in the sense that its rarity is based on how long ago it was available.

Mako could only be purchased during Fortnite’s very first season from the Item Shop, or by reaching Level 25 in Season 1. It could be purchased for 500 V-Bucks back in Oct. 2017.

As Fortnite Battle Royale was only starting out at this time, the number of players who had a chance of getting the Mako glider was very small to begin with. Combine that with the reluctance of players to purchase a somewhat basic design cosmetic and its relatively high level requirement to purchase from the Season Shop (for the time, at least) and you’ve got an incredibly rare glider.
