The Icerind Hatchet is a weapon you can find relatively early on in Elden Ring, and it’s also one of the more powerful armaments in the entire game thanks to its Ash of War. If you’re running a quality build or if you’re looking for a good Frost-based weapon, this is an excellent choice.

Icerind Hatchet Location in Elden Ring

The Icerind Hatchet can be found in Liurnia of the Lakes, just southeast of the Temple Quarter Site of Grace. We’ve included a screenshot of the map down below to indicate its exact location.

From the Site of Grace, you’ll want to head south-east until you reach a small clearing guarded by Miranda plants and the oily fish enemies. Look for the crumbling bell tower and head towards it, and you’ll find a chest sitting there containing the Icerind Hatchet.

Icerind Hatchet Stats and Requirements

icerind hatchet description in elden ring

The nice thing about the Icerind Hatchet is that its stat requirements are pretty low, and they’re sitting at 11 Str and 16 Dex. This means that even lower-leveled characters will be able to wield it without much difficulty.

In addition to that, it also comes equipped with the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War. While Hoarfrost Stomp has gotten nerfed in one of Elden Ring’s earliest patches, it’s still pretty damn good for most PvE content. It has great AoE range, inflicts Frost, and can also stunlock most enemies running towards you.

The normal attacks also inflict Frost build-up, and it’s a pretty fast weapon to boot that’s definitely worth picking up as long as you’re somewhat invested in Str and Dex. Do note, however, that this is a unique weapon, which means that it can’t be buffed and can only be strengthened with Somber Smithing Stones.

That’s all you need to know about where to find the Icerind Hatchet and what its stats and abilities are. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on Elden Ring.
