The PAX East Gearbox event has just ended, but right before the closing remarks, it was announced that Borderlands 3 will be adding crossplay functionality for PlayStation users. This means that PS4 and PS5 players will finally be able to join those who play on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia. There’s no set date just yet, but the update will be coming later this spring.
Gearbox added crossplay for other platforms back in 2020 alongside other additions like new skill trees, but PlayStation was left off of that list at the time.
