With the one year anniversary of Super Nintendo World‘s grand opening in Universal Studios Japan fast approaching, we finally received more details regarding the company’s plans to expand its iconic Mario-themed parks to the west.

While we knew that a western version of Osaka’s Super Nintendo World was on the cards, we now have a timeframe as to when to expect the moustachioed plumber’s theme park to arrive in North America. Here’s when Universal Studios Hollywood is planning to open its very own Super Nintendo World.

When Does Universal Studios Hollywood Open Super Nintendo World?

Currently, the official word is that Universal Studios Hollywood is set to open Super Nintendo World in 2023. Of course, due to the nature of building such a large theme park, delays can happen. In fact, the project has already been delayed several times due to the global pandemic.

What Rides Can I Expect to See?

Unfortunately, at the time of writing, details remain scarce regarding what specific rides will be available when the theme park launches in 2023.

However, per a press release from Universal Studios Hollywood, the park has been designed, “to deliver exhilarating entertainment with innovative technological achievements inspired by characters and video games that have appealed to generations of Nintendo fans for over 40 years.”
