The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released back in 2015 to strong critical acclaim, and was widely regarded as one of the best open-world RPGs we’d seen in the last decade. CD Projekt Red has just announced that they’re working on a brand new Witcher game that will start a new saga, and give fans even more to look forward to. If you’re wondering when The Witcher 4 comes out, here’s everything we know so far.
When Does The Witcher 4 Come Out?
Considering that the game has just been revealed with no announcement trailers or gameplay footage to speak of, there are no details whatsoever on when The Witcher 4 is set to be released.
However, there are a couple of things to consider. The Witcher 3 spent around three and a half years in development, and it was officially announced in 2013 before getting its official release in 2015. It’s very likely that The Witcher 4 will follow a similar development cycle, and if we assume that it’s already spent about a year in development, the earliest we’ll see the game is sometime in 2024.
CD Projekt Red also announced that this game was being developed with Unreal Engine 5 as part of their partnership with Epic Games, instead of their in-house RED engine which was used for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3. There’s no telling how this might affect development time either, so we may only see the game later than 2024.
Either way, that’s all we know so far about when The Witcher 4 is set to come out, and we’ll update this article as more details come our way. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more news and information on the game.
