Elden Ring Uchigatana Location: Where to Get a Katana Early

Uchigatana Location in Elden Ring

There are all manner of different weapons and gear sets to equip your character within Elden Ring, many of which are inspired by medieval aesthetics from around our own world. That includes the Feudal Japanese period, and if you’re a fan of samurai warriors but for some reason didn’t opt to start with the Samurai warrior class, then this guide will provide information on where to get a Katana early. Here’s the Uchigatana location in Elden Ring.

Uchigatana Location in Elden Ring

The Uchigatana sword is found inside the Deathtouched Catacombs, a dungeon that is due east of Stormveil Castle and a location you will have access to right from the start of your adventure across The Lands Between. This means you can find a Katana early in the game, only a few hours in.

As with many of the dungeons in Elden Ring, the objective of this dungeon is to clear the area and locate a lever that will open a locked door to a miniboss fight. But you don’t actually need to do any of this to get the Uchigatana.

Instead, simply walk down the stairs from the entrance of the dungeon and continue forward and then down another flight of stairs (pictured above) before hanging a hard right and through a small door on the left.

Continue down this small hallway, go left again, and then you will find the Uchigatana on a dead body hanging over the edge of the platform (pictured above).

The Uchigatana is a powerful Katana sword for the early game, and it can also be upgraded to keep pace with your character moving forward. It’s also possible to apply Ashes of War to the blade for an extra magical ability. It scales D with Dexterity and Strength as standard.

That should give you everything you need to know about the Uchigatana Location in Elden Ring, so that you can get a Katana early. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our guide wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on the game.
