How to Easily Beat Mimic Tear Boss Fight in Elden Ring

This boss is found in Nokron, the Eternal City, and this is likely the first boss you’ll run into as you descent into this underground land. You can probably guess from its name, but the Mimic Tear copies everything about your character. Essentially, you’re the boss that needs to get taken down in this one.

The Mimic Tear will copy all weapons, items, and armor that you have equipped, and it can even use flasks to heal. This can make for a tough fight — only if you’re wearing any gear at all, that is.

The boss won’t automatically transform into your character once the fog door is entered. Instead, it’ll only copy everything once you approach it in the middle of the arena. Initially, it looks like a puddle of silver slime. Before going anywhere near it, unequip all armor, weapons, and throwables.

Make sure that you know where your weapon is in the inventory menu so that you can re-equip it quickly once the fight actually starts. Now, walk up to the Mimic Tear and it’ll have nothing to copy but your currently plain, weak character. Once it appears as a clone, re-equip your weapon and hack away until the fight is won. All it can do is punch and heal.

You can even call in a Spirit Ashes Summon to take down the boss if you can’t manage to get to your weapon in the inventory quick enough to avoid getting punched. It’ll all look silly, for sure, but that’s the way it’s done.

This may be a bit cheap, but it’s definitely the easiest way to beat the Mimic Tear boss fight in Elden Ring. Be sure to check out our guide wiki for more tips, tricks, and other boss guides as you journey through the Lands Between.
