Getting the Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring

  1. You’ll first need to progress through the story until you reach Mt. Gelmir.

Do note that this is considered a pretty late-game area. While it’s entirely possible to get there early, it’s definitely recommended that you clear out Liurnia of the Lakes, Caelid, and explore the Altus Plateau before heading up there.

  2. Upon reaching Mt. Gelmir, you’ll need to beat one of the main story bosses there, Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy.

After defeating him, you’ll receive the Remembrance of the Blasphemous key item.

  3. Return to Roundtable Hold and speak with Enia, then choose the Remembrance option.

  4. Choose the Blasphemous Blade to consume the Remembrance and receive the weapon.

You have a choice between the Blasphemous Blade and Rykard’s Rancor, which is a sorcery that summons flaming spirits that leave behind a trail of delayed explosions.

Blasphemous Blade Stat Requirements and Weapon Skill

The Blasphemous Blade is a pretty good weapon choice for players running Str/Fai builds as it has a stat requirement of 22 Str, 15 Dex, and 21 Fai.

The weapon also comes with the Taker’s Flames weapon skill, and this cannot be swapped out with any Ashes of War you’ve collected along the way, nor can it be buffed with incantations or sorceries. In addition to that, the weapon needs to be upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones, and will only go up to +10.
