As an early miniboss, the encounter with the Beastman is actually not that challenging. Found at the end of the Groveside Cave, which is a short distance north of the Church of Elleh, players will face a monster with a large blade for company.

Understanding the patterns is key, and keeping your distance will allow you to see the full repertoire of moves the boss will use. It can use a jump attack with considerable range, smash down with its sword, or engage a longer combo that can be avoided by rolling away.

However, the most important thing to remember is that the Beastman is susceptible to heavy attacks. Hitting it with one will stagger it most, if not, all the time, stopping its attacks. Look for windows of opportunity when its current attack is nearing its end, then utilize your heavy attacks.

Retreat after two or three hits, and repeat the cycle. Just make sure to keep an eye on your stamina so you have enough to either block or escape from danger.

That is all there is to it when it comes to learning about how to beat the Beastman of Farum Azula in Elden Ring.
