Elden Ring: Should You Let Fia Hold You? Answered

Elden Ring is a brand new action-RPG developed by FromSoftware, and features a large open-world with an overarching mythos penned by George R.R. Martin, best known for writing the A Song of Ice and Fire series. The game features tons of intriguing, and at times very weird, NPCs that you can meet on your journey. If you’re wondering whether you should let Fia hold you in Elden Ring, here’s what you need to know.

Fia is one of the denizens of the Roundtable Hold, and when you meet her, you’ll find her sitting alone on her bed acting as a deathbed companion. When you speak with her, she’ll ask if she can hold you for a short period of time.

Letting Fia Hold You in Elden Ring

If you grant Fia’s request, you’ll be rewarded with an item called Baldachin’s Blessing. This is a consumable item that allows you to expend a bit of FP to enhance your poise for a short period of time.

This can be pretty useful in combat situations where enemies have the opportunity to stagger you repeatedly, and having enough poise might give you the opportunity you need to break out of a combo.

Since it’s a consumable item, this means that you can always go back to the Roundtable Hold and let Fia hold you, so you can get more Blessings.

You can only hold one at a time, so if you’re planning on making use of this item regularly, you’ll need to make a few trips to the Hold throughout the course of your journey.

Even after you’ve received the Blessing, you can continue to let her hold you, and occasionally, a Talk in Secret option will appear, allowing you to learn more about her past and lore.

Fia’s Debuff & How to Remove It

By letting Fia hold you, you’ll also get an active debuff that removes 5% from your total HP. This debuff isn’t removed if you die, rest at a site of grace, or use restorative items.

Instead, to remove Fia’s debuff in Elden Ring, you’ll need to use the Baldachian’s Blessing that Fia has given you. When you use this, you’ll get all of its benefits, and remove the debuff she placed on you.

However, given that her title is the deathbed companion, it’s entirely possible that you might reach a point where you have to enter some sort of tradeoff in order to keep receiving the Blessings.

The game is still in its early days, so it’s also possible that we haven’t fully explored Fia’s quest line just yet. We’ll update this article as more info comes our way.

For now, that’s all you need to know about whether you should let Fia hold you in Elden Ring. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
