A number of NPCs will mention that the academy is a place where sorcerers learn and practice magic, but a special key is necessary to enter. You’ll need the Academy Glintstone Key in order to enter Raya Lucaria.

Here’s how to get into Raya Lucaria Academy when starting off without a key:

  1. There will be a map on a corpse right outside the South Raya Lucaria Gate that will give you the key’s location.

Make your way through the Academy Gate Town to reach the south gate.elden ring raya lucaria academy south gate

  2. Go back down into the water to the west of the south gate to find the Temple Quarter Site of Grace.

  3. Head directly north of Temple Quarter to find a dragon sleeping next to a huge rock formation.

The Glintstone Key is right behind the dragon — between it and the rock. Ride in quickly on Torrent or sneak up slowly and grab the key.

  4. Return to the South Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace to use the key and get inside the Academy.

It’s important to note that the academy is a tough area with plenty of sorcerers who use ranged magic to attack, so come prepared. They can be staggered and overwhelmed with close combat, but it can be tough to get that close while being attacked from long range.

That’s everything you need to know about how to get inside the Raya Lucaria Academy in Elden Ring. Be sure to check out our guide wiki on the game for more tips, tricks, and other useful info that can help on your journey through the Lands Between.
