Rainbow Six Extraction: How to Use Skills

How to Use Skills in Rainbow Six

Given that Extraction was once a Rainbow Six Siege game mode, it should come as no surprise that many of its systems and mechanics are the same. Still, for those who haven’t played either game before there might be some confusion as to how one actually makes use of each operator’s abilities, and whether they can be customized. Here, we’ll go over how to use skills in Rainbow Six Extraction.

To use skills in Rainbow Six Extraction, press RB. This will, in turn, deploy the weapon or item that forms the basis for a given operator’s skill; for example, a drone, stim pack, sledgehammer, etc. You can then use the item by pressing RB/ R1 or RT/ R2.

Which button you’ll need to press depends on the ability you’re using. For example, if you’re using Doc’s Stim Shot ability, pressing RB again when he’s holding the Stim Shot will result in him using it on himself. If you press RT/ R2, you’ll fire it at wherever your reticle is facing, hopefully at a teammate!

Do note that you cannot equip a skill for your Operator. Each one has its own unique ability which does not change and cannot be altered. Think of each operator as a “class” that defines their role and governs what sort of ability they are able to use for a specific role in each mission.
