How Honey Trees Work in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond

Using honey trees allows you to encounter and catch pokemon that otherwise wouldn’t appear naturally in the wild elsewhere. Walk up to any tree with golden leaves and press A to interact with it. Then, accept when the game asks if you want to slather honey on the tree.

This is the confusing part because the Pokemon doesn’t show up right away. You need to wait a full in-game day and return to the tree after the honey has had time to actually attract Pokemon with its scent.

How to Get Honey

Before you can interact with a honey tree, you’ll need to acquire honey. To get the item, head on over to the Floaroma Meadow, which is connected to the northwest exit in Floaroma Town.

After dealing with the Team Galactic Grunts at the Valley Windworks and shutting down their operations there, speak to the man in the meadow to purchase honey. He’ll sell it for 100 credits per jar, so you should have more than enough money to get as much honey as you’ll ever need.
