One of the trickiest Pokemon evolutions to complete in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is the one that takes a lowly Budew into the formidable rose-flaunting Roserade. This requires you to evolve Budew into Roselia and then evolve Roselia into Roserade, but these evolutions aren’t as simple as just having them reach certain levels. Here’s how to evolve Roselia into Roserade in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.
Getting Roselia
Roselia is not a version exclusive Pokemon and so can be caught in both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in the following locations:
- Route 212
- Route 221
- Route 224
- Route 225
- Route 229
- Trophy Garden
It can also be caught in the following Pokemon Hideaways in the Grand Underground:
- Bogsunk Cavern
- Grassland Cave
- Sunlit Cavern
- Swampy Cave
Roselia can also be caught in the Great Marsh if it’s one of the Daily Pokemon. To check the Daily Pokemon, head to the 2nd floor of the Great Marsh lobby and use the binoculars. Six Pokemon will be mentioned each day which can then be caught in the Marsh.
Finally, you can always evolve Budew into Roselia by reaching High Friendship and leveling it up during the daytime. Check out our Budew evolution guide for more information.
Evolving Roselia into Roserade in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
To evolve Roselia into Roserade, use a Shiny Stone on it.
This is done by opening your bag, selecting the Shiny Stone, and then using it on Roselia in your party. A short animation will play out and once it’s done, you’ll have a Roserade.
The tricky part about this evolution is, of course, getting the Shiny Stone. We’ve detailed how to get one for yourself below.
Getting a Shiny Stone
A Shiny Stone can be found within the cave on Iron Island and on Route 228. We’ve provided a full breakdown of where you can find it in our Shiny Stone guide.
