Evolving Magneton Into Magnezone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

To evolve Magneton into Magnezone, you need to use a Thunder Stone on it. This is done by opening your bag, selecting the Thunder Stone and then choosing the Magneton in your party.

Doing this will cause a short animation to play out, and once it’s finished, you’ll have a Magnezone.

Your Magneton will not have to be any specific level in order to evolve into Magnezone with the Thunder Stone. It’ll likely already be level 30, however, as this is the level it evolves from Magnemite.

Getting a Thunder Stone in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

A Thunder Stone can be obtained fairly easily by heading to Sunyshore City. When you arrive, head west (left) of the Pokemon Center and go up the set of stairs.

Follow the path East (right) until you reach a Sailor and another set of stairs. Go down to the stairs and you’ll find a Thunder Stone waiting for you at the bottom.

You can now use it to evolve Magneton into Magnezone in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Getting Magneton

Magneton cannot be caught in the wild. Instead, you’ll need to catch a Magnemite and level it up to Level 30 for it to evolve into Magneton.

Magnemite can be caught in both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl in the following locations:

  • Fuego Ironworks
  • Glacial Cave
  • Icy Cave
  • Spacious Cave
  • Whiteout Cave
