The one very important thing to know is that Gligar (and its evolution Gliscor) are exclusive to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond. Gligar can only be caught in this version of the game, so if you are playing Pokemon Shining Pearl, you will need to trade with someone to get a Gligar.

Once you have a Gligar in your party, there are a few specific things you need to do in order to evolve it.

How to Evolve Gligar into Gliscor

To evolve Gligar, it needs to be holding a Razor Fang at nighttime. According to Serebii.net, you can obtain a Razor Fang in the southwest area of the Battle Park. The Battle Park is the only place you can obtain this item, and unfortunately, you won’t be able to reach it until the end of the game.

After you’ve obtained a Razor Fang and given it to your Gligar to hold, there’s one more step. You need to level up your Pokemon at night.

Wait for it to be nighttime (after 8 pm) and battle with Gligar (or give it a Rare Candy) so that it hits the next level. If you did all of these steps correctly, it will evolve into Gliscor.

Both Gligar and Gliscor are dual type Flying/Ground Pokemon. Gliscor is very useful in competitive battling, so it’s a good idea to add one to your team, especially if you are planning on participating in online competitions.

Where to Catch Gligar

Gligar can be found in five locations in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. These are as follows:

  • Big Bluff Cavern
  • Bogsunk Cavern
  • Rocky Cave
  • Sunlit Cavern
  • Swampy Cave
