Let’s get the most obvious entry out of the way first. The game that’s definitely most like Riders Republic on this list has to be the previous game by the same developers, Steep. If what you liked most about Riders Republic was the winter sports, and you want a game that focuses entirely on that aspect, Steep is a great choice.
You have a lot of the same features such as exploring, making videos, doing tricks, racing, and more, but it’s entirely focused on skiing and snowboarding instead. So, it takes place solely in a large open-world wintery environment.
Steep definitely nails the feeling of being high up on a mountain; while nothing completely matches the real-world experience of being on a mountain with your skis/snowboard and taking in that tranquility, Steep comes closer than any other game.
Forza Horizon

If the racing part of Riders Republic was more your jam and you don’t mind trading your skis for race cars and offroad vehicles, then you should really enjoy the Forza Horizon series, including Forza Horizon 4 and the upcoming Forza Horizon 5.
Like Riders Republic, Forza Horizon features an open world filled with activities, races, and more that you can explore at your leisure. It’s not a linear game, and you can meet up with others to do whatever you want, along with creating your own events that you can share with others.
Forza Horizon, especially 4 and 5, also happens to be some of the prettiest and most graphically impressive games ever made, full stop. If you’re playing on an Xbox Series X, expect to have your mind completely blown by not only the look of the cars but the show-stopping visuals of the various real-life locations that the Forza Horizon festival takes place at.
SSX
Games Like Riders Republic
If what you love about Riders Republic are the winter sports, but want something a little more focused on doing insane tricks rather than racing — and don’t mind going a little bit “retro” — you might really enjoy the most recent entry in the long-running SSX series.
SSX, released in 2012 is playable on the Xbox Series X (or older consoles, of course) and is an interesting mix of “realism” and physics-defying gameplay. While that might seem contradictory, and it kind of is, you’ll know what I mean if you played any of the earlier SSX games.
It’s not completely out of control like the older games and is grounded in a bit more realism, even featuring unique challenges such as managing your oxygen while riding down Mount Everest. However, it’s definitely zanier than Riders Republic and certainly Steep. You can still pull off insane tricks and fly across mountains with your wingsuit, letting your trick combos reach silly numbers.
