In Forza Horizon 4, if you owned a car that you didn’t really use, you had no option but to keep it basically. You couldn’t sell it via any method to make yourself some extra Credits (the game’s currency), so it’d just gather dust in your virtual garage, longing to be driven. Fortunately, things have changed a little bit and players can now sell cars in Forza Horizon 5. Here’s everything you need to know.
Selling cars has returned in the form of the Auction House, an online marketplace that allows players to bid on one another’s vehicles or simply buy it at the ‘Buy Now’ price if you didn’t want to engage in a bidding war. This isn’t a new feature in the series, but it was absent in Forza Horizon 4, so many players will be pleased to hear its made a return for the Horizon Mexico festival.
Selling Cars in Forza Horizon 5
To sell cars, you need to head to one of the Festival Sites you’ve set up across Mexico, or to one of your houses that you’ve bought, such as Casa Bella. Now, go to the ‘Auction House’ option on the ‘Buy & Sell’ option and then choose ‘Start Auction.’
From here, simply select the vehicle you want to sell and choose the reserve price that other players will begin bidding from, as well as the ‘Buy Now’ price that you’d be happy for the car to be immediately purchased for without bidding.
Choose the duration of the auction and then list it. Now it’s simply a case of waiting for the time to tick down and see if anyone puts a bid in.
The only downside about the auction is that unless you’ve got a particularly impressive or rare car, it may not get a ton of attention making it difficult to sell. Even so, it’s better than having no option to sell cars in Forza Horizon 5 at all.
Buying Used Cars
If you’re looking to buy another players’ car, you simply choose the ‘Search Auctions’ option from the ‘Auction House’ screen. Select the make and model of the vehicle you’re looking for and choose any other criteria you may have, and then search.
When you’ve found a car you want to bid on or buy, simply place the bid, or choose the ‘Buy Now’ option if you’ve got the credits to do so.
