Animal Crossing New Horizons Harv’s Island: How to Unlock All New Shops & What They Are

harvs island update

In the Animal Crossing New Horizons version 2.0 update, Harvey’s island will be undergoing renovations. Specifically, many of the traveling animals that visit your island to sell goods will be able to set up shops on his island. They won’t automatically set up stores there, though; you’ll have to work to unlock them one by one. You might be wondering how to do this, so we’re here to help. Here’s how to unlock all of the new shops and what they are in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

All the New Shops at Harv’s Island

When you get to Harv’s island after updating your game to version 2.0, you’ll notice some changes. Harvey will be standing behind his cabin with an old friend of his, Harriet. There will be empty plots surrounding them. Harvey wants you to help raise Bells to fund the grand opening of shops for these plots.

There are seven total shops you can fund. Each of them will cost 100,000 Bells before it will open, and you can only donate to one shop per day. Therefore, it will take a minimum of one week to open up all of the shops here, assuming you donate the maximum of 100k Bells each day.

Here are the shops that can be funded at Harv’s island along with the characters that run them:

  • Katrina, “a mysteriously accurate fortune-teller”
  • Saharah, “a merchant offering rugs and mysterious wallpapers”
  • Tortimer, “an old-timer who’ll give you access to your home storage”
  • Reece and Cyrus, “a talented husband-and-wife furniture-refurbishing team”
  • Leif, “a botany expert with the greenest of thumbs”
  • Redd, “a legitimate art dealer”
  • Kicks, “a dapper dealer of fine shoes and handbags”

As you’ve probably noticed, some of these merchants are brand new to the game, while others may already have visited your island selling goods. Funding these shops on Harv’s island is a great way to get everyday access to these merchants instead of waiting for them to randomly visit you.

After you’ve fully funded a plot, the merchant will be able to open up shop and begin selling goods. That’s everything you need to know about how to unlock all of the new shops and what they are in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
