Well, this is a pretty surprising announcement, right? Yes, a video game based on John Krasinski’s sci-fi horror film, A Quiet Place, is officially in the works, and is being published by World War Z and Evil Dead: The Game developer Saber Interactive.
The news comes by way of a press release (h/t, Gematsu) outlining the companies involved, as well as a brief description as to what to expect.
More specifically, the US-based team is collaborating with Canadian developer Illogika and Texas-based studio Ep1t0me to help get the project off the ground. In an interesting move, Saber Interactive look like they will be overseeing the publishing of the game, rather than handling development.
A Quiet Place is being pitched as a “single-player, story-driven horror adventure game” and is set to launch “in 2022.” Unfortunately, no platforms were officially confirmed. However, the press release does go on to say: “More information will be announced later in 2021.”
For those who want to know more, there’s an official teaser website for the title that went live earlier today, which you can check out here. And for even more information, here’s a brief overview courtesy of Saber Interactive:
This first official video game set in the terrifying A Quiet Place universe will deliver an original story and gameplay that captures the compelling suspense, emotion, and drama for which the series is famous. The game is in development by iLLOGIKA, the Montreal-based studio with veteran talent from the Rainbow Six and Far Cry franchises, and published by Saber Interactive, the Embracer Group company behind the hit game World War Z and the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game.
