Following the reveal of Star Ocean: The Divine Force, Square Enix sent a press release with the first details, a new video, and plenty of screenshots and artwork.
First of all, we get the clarification that the Star Ocean: The Divine Force is for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. It’ll release in 2022 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the series (which is actually this year).
Secondly, the press release also included the first screenshots and artwork from the game, including the key art and some concept designs. You can find them all in the gallery below.
On top of the announcement trailer, of which below you can see the version with Japanese voices (find the one in English in the original post), we also get one showcasing the world.
Speaking of Japanese, the Japanese title is “Star Ocean 6: The Divine Force.” This is not the first time the number is omitted in English.
Last, but not least, we hear the first details:
“Showcasing a diverse cast of playable characters, Star Ocean: The Divine Force will tell a gripping story that seamlessly melds science fiction and fantasy elements and can be enjoyed by newcomers to the series and veterans alike. The game features dual protagonists, which offer different story perspectives and gameplay experiences: Raymond, the captain of the space trading ship, Ydas, and Laeticia, the princess-knight of a kingdom on an underdeveloped planet. Fate will bring Raymond, Laeticia, and several other ally characters together, all designed by renowned artist Akiman (Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, Street Fighter series).”
