New World is an ambitious pirate-themed MMORPG developed and published by Amazon Games. It features a large sprawling open-world with different factions to join, as well as an economy that is entirely player-driven. Just like any other MMO, there are plenty of items and resources to grind for as well. Here’s how to get and use Peppercorn in New World.
Getting Peppercorn in New World
Peppercorn is a type of herb that you can get in New World, but you’ll first need to craft a sickle to start gathering. You can craft it at any Workshop crafting station in a settlement, and you only need some flint and wood to get started with the basic sickle.
Once you’ve equipped it to your tool slot, look for the dark bluish-purple plants out in the wild. We’ve included a screenshot down below to give you an idea of what it looks like.
Head over to the plant and press the E key to start harvesting it. You’ll be able to increase your Harvesting trade skill this way, and you also have a chance of obtaining Peppercorn. Do note that it’s not a guaranteed drop, so you may have to farm for a while before you eventually get it. Unlike the pesky Fae Iron and Petrified Wood, however, its drop rate is moderately high, so it shouldn’t take too long.
What It’s For
Just like any other herb you get from harvesting, Peppercorn is used for cooking. It’s required for the level 5+ recipes, and can also be used for cooking Roasted Potatoes, which will give you a luck boost when mining.
The trade skill foods will all require spices, and they’re pretty much crucial if you want to get the rare drops from gathering resources, so make sure to farm herbs as often as possible.
