Ubisoft‘s popular shooter, Far Cry 6, is finally out in the wild, and fans and critics alike are having a blast. While many fans will be busy taking down a corrupt regime across the tropical island of Yara in solo mode, some may be enjoying the online multiplayer co-op that the series is well-known for. But what if you want to to team up with your friends on different platforms? Will you be able to play with them? In this guide, we’ll walk you through whether Far Cry 6 is cross-platform compatible. Let’s get into it!
Does Far Cry 6 Support Cross-Platform Play? Answered
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Far Cry 6 unfortunately does not currently support cross-platform play. In other words, if you’re playing on PlayStation and your friend plays on Xbox, you won’t be able to team up and take advantage of the game’s online multiplayer co-op mode.
However, Far Cry 6 does thankfully support cross-generational play. This means that you’ll be able to play with other friends who are on the same family of consoles as you. So, for example, if you’re playing on PS5, and your pal plays on PS4, you’ll be able to team up and play Far Cry 6’s online co-op mode together. The same applies for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
There is a chance that Ubisoft could introduce some form of cross-platform play in the future. If this happens, we’ll make sure to update this post to keep you in the loop.
