To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ghost Recon series, Ubisoft North America has revealed the next game in their beloved FPS franchise, titled Ghost: Recon Frontline. As you can see in the trailer below, the new game being created by Ubisoft Bucharest is a free-to-play battle royale title that allows you and your friends to play against hundreds of other players in multiplayer.
While discussing Ghost Recon: Frontline, Game Design Director Alexandru Rais discussed how progression will work for the game:
Jumping into the game is simple: choose a contractor, pick a game mode, and get to it. Progression comes from improving your expertise with different weapons, completing objectives, and unlocking new recruits for your team.
Contractors will be generated from a pool of various nationalities, military origins, looks, and classes. Each have their own specilizations, development paths, and loadouts to benifit your teams.
Classes are highly specilized, filling in distinct tactical roles. The Assault, for example, provides great sustainability in close range fights and overal profinciency in offensive manuevers. The Support can offer superior protection thanks to their fortification ability that will let you defend you position much easier.
Registration for Ghost Recon: Frontline’s upcoming closed tests are now open, and you can find more info on their official website here.
In other Ghost Recon news, it was also revealed that the original Ghost Recon will be available to download for free on Ubisoft connect, and that Ghost Recon: Wildlands players on PS4, Xbox, and PC can get the Fall Ghost DLC for free. Both of these offers are available up until Oct. 11, 2021.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is also getting some updates, as the Deep State adventure and a set of iconic skins will both be released for free.
